Learning Activity #1:
Related to Theme 1
As adults, we all feel that our decision-making process must
be pretty good. However, everything we
do can be improved. How good are your
decision-making skills? Take the quiz
using this link How good are your decision-making skills and evaluate your
decision-making skills.
Review the results and identify and discuss the areas of
strengths and weaknesses.
Do you think that the quiz findings reflect a tendency to
fall prey to a trap? If so why? If not, why not?
How does knowing your decision making skill set relate to
theme one?
Learning Activity
#2: Related to Theme 2
Sally Felds, a young 28 year-old mother of three with a
degree in history, and Paul Newton a 57-year-old former engineer and judging by
clothing an orthodox Jew, were new management hires at Booken’s Book Emporium. Jenny Jones, the Personnel Director had four
departments for which the applicants could be assigned: the Children’s Books,
Religion, Science and Technology, or History and Biography .
Using the reading as support, create at least six questions
Jenny could ask Sally and Paul in the interview that would help her avoid bias
in her decision making.
Explain why and how each question would help Jones make her
decision bias-free
Remember to use the class material to support your ideas and
