First Part:
After reading the Tata Motors case study, respond to the following questions.??
Question 1: What do you consider to be the most important problems and issues facing Tata Motors, based on your analysis of the company and the global motor vehicle industry? Prioritize these problems and issues, beginning with the most important.?
Question 2: What actions would you suggest to the company’s management team to help Tata Motors sustain or improve its competitive position in the domestic and global markets, as well as its long-term financial performance?
Question 3:
Describe the economic characteristics of the global motor vehicle industry.
Second Part:
Question 1
Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of pursuing a globalization strategy when given the depth of competition, profitability issues, and market share implications. Use recent news and company examples to illustrate your points.
Question 2
Does your company do business at the global level? Is it a strategy your company should pursue? If so, why? If not, why not? If your company is not positioned to go global, “find a company” that you think should consider the strategy, and explain your thinking.
The discussions will be graded for the following two criteria:
1. Frequency—Number and regularity of your discussion comments. Students are expected to log into the course and post (respond) in the discussion topics on a minimum of three separate days per week in each graded discussion, beginning no later than Wednesday.
2. Quality—Content of your contributions. Examples of quality posts include:
providing additional information to the discussion
elaborating on previous comments from others
presenting explanations of concepts or methods to help fellow students
presenting reasons for or against a topic in a persuasive fashion
sharing your own personal experiences that relate to the topic
providing a URL and explanation for an area you researched on the Internet
Full credit is awarded when both high quality and required frequency is met.
