2. Describe who the parties to the case are. ( Warden and Defendant or State and Defendant, etc.
3. What are the main facts of the case? (4 or 5 sentences of relevant facts)
4. What is the issue being litigated/adjudicated? (What is the complaining part asking the Court
to do? The issue should be in a question form.)
5. What was the judge’s decision? (What the Court Held.)
6. What law governs the outcome? (Statute or Constitutional Amendment involved.) You should
brief the cases so you demonstrate TO ME that you have a full understanding of the case and the
course material.
