Angelo’s Pizza Case Study
Purpose
The purpose of this assignment is to help you explore the design and conduct of human resources
function and to make a recommendation to senior management to address several important
issues.
Expectations
You are expected to read the case below (Angelo’s Pizza) and identify the HR issues present in
the company. Next, you will develop a set of recommendations for Angelo’s to improve the
organization and write a report to the company addressing the issues.
Your finished case should be in APA format (12-point font, Times New Roman, double-space,
APA style references and level headings, page numbers in the upper right corner, page header in
all caps, two spaces between sentences, etc.). The body of your paper should be three to five
pages in length and is expected to integrate material from the chapters that have been covered to
date in the course. Your paper will be graded for both content and grammar. Your paper will be
checked for plagiarism in SafeAssign. If your paper contains plagiarism, you will fail the
assignment and you may possibly fail the course.
Directions
Read the case of Angelo’s Pizza on page 2 of this assignment and answer the three questions
below in your report to the company. You should approach this assignment as though you are a
consultant and you have been asked to make specific recommendations to address the issues
raised in the case. Once you have completed your work, upload the case to Blackboard for
grading.
1. If Angelo’s is to develop into a franchise, it will need to establish a functioning human
resources department. Explain why you do or do not agree with this statement. Your
answer should address issues such as strategy, EEO compliance, and talent management.
2. Based on the material we have covered so far, what are the major considerations in
developing successful human resources functions and how should the human resources
department be structured? Include in your answer the qualifications of the HR manager,
the size of the department, and the specific types of activities the HR department will
need to conduct to insure organizational success.
3. Job analysis will play an important role in the success of the HR Department. Describe,
in layman’s terms, what job analysis is and why it is important for Angelo’s to invest in a
job analysis.
