Case Study #2
You are to write a 2-3 page paper, in APA formatting (with a proper cover page, well-organized paper
with source citations, and an APA reference list—which do not count towards the page count
requirement), which addresses the case questions. Your answer must be supplemented with research
from your book, CDC, NIH, and other quality sources to determine answers and solutions. Note: You
must use a minimum of three references in your responses, and at least one of them must be from the
provided resources listed at the end of this assignment. This is a paper, so your answer should not be
numbered, but rather you should use titles and subtitles.
Case Analysis—Integrative Models and Performance:
After reading the case listed below, write a short 3-5 page paper describing the Genesys Health Plan. In
particular, pay attention to the following points in your paper:
Basic characteristics of the health system (size, population served, health services, providers,
finances, anything else of importance when describing a health system)
Health system’s approach to primary care
Health system’s approach to quality improvement
Health system’s approach to coordination of care
Describe how expanding access to services and helping patients adopt healthy behaviors and
manage chronic diseases cut emergency room visits and costs
Discuss collaboration among local government, hospitals, community groups, and other
stakeholders
