CONTROLLING
For this final SLP you will be looking closely at the
control function of management within your organization. All organizations have
numerous methods of control, but think carefully about what control mechanisms
are most vital for your organization’s success. Then write a three page paper
answering the following questions:
Review the four steps in the control process discussed in
Section 9.3 of Badenhorst, et al. (2010). How are these steps done in your
organization, and which of these steps do you think is most vital or your
organization? [This answer should be at least half of your three page paper,
and should include at least one paragraph on each of the four steps in the
control process as applied to your organization.]
Refer to some of methods of control discussed on pages
212-219 of Hill and McShane (2006). Which of these methods does your
organization use (if any), and which ones would you recommend your organization
adopt to improve their performance? [This answer should be around one page in
length]

Stay focused on the precise assignment questions. Don’t go
off on tangents or devote a lot of space to summarizing general background
materials.
Make sure to use reliable and credible sources as your
references. Articles published in established newspapers or business
journals/magazines are preferred. If you find articles on the internet, make
sure it is from a credible source.
Reference your sources of information with both a
bibliography and in-text citations. See the Student Guide to Writing a
High-Quality Academic Paper, including pages 13 and 14 on in-text citations.
Another resource is the “Writing Style Guide,” which is found under “My
