The country for Turkey Instruction: This is course of International Business. The project should be 8-10 pages. work on
a country-specific export project
Allocation scheme: Any kind of plagiarism found in the report would result in the zero
grade.
Grading: Grading of the project is based on three aspects: 1, contents and analysis. 2, research
work, and articulation of thoughts. Contents and analysis will enjoy 50%, research work 30%,
and articulation of thoughts 20%.
General Guidelines: For the Contents of the Project Report
1. Give an executive Summary of the report. (0.5 page max)
2. Give a brief but meaningful introduction of your work describing the country briefly, its
geographical location, distance from the U.S., natural resources, and climate.(1 page
max)
3. Describe the economic environment of the country—current level of GNP or GDP and its
pattern for the past five years, income levels, average inflation rate, unemployment rate,
interest rate, and commercial policy pertaining to importing. Give your opinion about the
economic environment of this country and its future. (about 2 pages)
4. Describe the population size, growth or decline rate for the past five years. What is the
forecasted size of the population in the future? Describe the age and education
distribution. Give your opinion (0.5 to 1 page)
5. Describe the culture, values, consumption patterns, life styles, languages spoken,
predominant language of business etc. Give your opinion (0.5 to 1 page) 6. Political conditions—type of government, any political upheavals, or coups, relationship
of the host government with the U.S. government during the past decade. What is the
attitude of locals toward Americans and American products and services? Is there any
impact of terrorism on their attitude toward American products? Give your opinion (0.5
to 1 page)
7. Major products categories needed in that nation. List them. Give your opinion (0.5 to 1
page)
8. Product or product line chosen for export (0.5 page). Give reasons for choosing it.
9. Type of Export mode chosen. Give reasons for choosing it (0.5 page).
10. Pricing method chosen. Give reasons for choosing it (0.5 page).
11. Export transaction instrument selected. Give reasons for choosing it (0.5 page).
Format of the Report
1. Use MS-word for generating the report and Laser printouts for submission using 12 font
size. Avoid excessive usage of Italics. Report should be left justified. Proper Headings
wherever appropriate should be used.
2. Report should have a title page with the names of the members. The title page should be
followed by the summary of the report. The next page should contain a table of contents
listing major headings and their pages. Page number one of the report should start after
this page.
3. Reference the contents appropriately at the end of the report in the following format. Roth, Frank J. and Jamie K. Storr (2003), “Title of the article”, Vol. 20, issue #4, 223235. In the body of the text, the references should be in the following format. (Roth
2003).
