Lesson 7 Project: PowerPoint Presentation: Stock Purchase
Recommendation
This project supports Student Learning Outcome 2 from your
Course Syllabus.
Purpose:
Using the stock information from the lesson 5 project,
identify and present the most promising stocks to purchase.
Requirements:
1. For this
project, you will :
o Consolidate
the spreadsheet data into a single spreadsheet with all the stocks listed.
o Identify
5 rules that you could use to evaluate the stocks
o Apply the
rules to each stock in the spreadsheet
o Identify
the top 3 stocks recommended for purchase
2. Create a
PowerPoint presentation to recommend these stocks to a client
o Include a
title slide with your name and the names of your team members
o Select a
theme for your presentation
o Identify
the stocks evaluated by market sector
o Describe
your evaluation process
o Show
relevant information and charts from the spreadsheets to support your decision-making
process
o Identify
the top recommended stocks and explain why they were chosen
o Cite any
resources you used to get stock information or evaluation criteria
o Follow
the recommendations for creating good presentations

• Once you
create your rules, you may find that you need more information in your
spreadsheet, such as additional data or calculations
• Microsoft
PowerPoint is a good tool for creating a presentation. Use the help (if needed)
to use tools such as templates and transitions to make a professional looking
presentation. Here are a couple of website resources with tips on making good

• Be sure
to check your spelling and grammar and correct any errors that it finds.
• Make sure
that you ‘sell’ your recommendations. Show the criteria you used and how each
stock evaluated.
