Negotiation Interview Analysis Paper
Interview a business professional of your choice and write a paper summarizing the interview, evaluating the person’s negotiation environment and style, and analyzing his or her negotiation behavior, most frequent negotiation tactics and strategies, advice and other observations in light of the knowledge and experience you have gained in this course.
Once the interview is complete, write a thorough analysis of the interview using the concepts and ideas you have learned in this course. Based on the interview, determine how your subject negotiates. Are the negotiations they are involved in typically distributive or integrative? What techniques do they use? Are these techniques appropriate for the types of business negotiations this person is involved in? Why? Are the outcomes of their negotiation consistent with their business goals and objectives? Do they take into account cultural dynamics during negotiation? Explain your opinion of their negotiation style. Compare and contrast their negotiation techniques with what you have learned so far in this course. Did you learn anything new from the interview that you did you learn in the course? If appropriate, discuss ethical considerations. Are their tips and advice in line with what you learned about skilled negotiation during the course? Are there ways you believe the person could improve their negotiations in their actual business practice? What are they? These are just a few ideas to get you started.
