Introduction Amazon, better known as Amazon.com was initially started in the garage of Jeffrey P. Bezos. Jeffrey was
30 years old working at Wall Street when he decided to quit his job and start an internet company. He
started by selling books because of their low cost and universal demand. Amazon was not the first idea
on his mind. Jeffrey initially did not have the name Amazon for his internet company. When he decided
on Amazon his parents were the ones to give him the startup money.
Jeff Bezos was born on January 12, 1964 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Jeff studied computer science
and electrical engineering at Princeton University. He graduated summa cum laude. After graduation,
he found employment at Wall Street where he met his wife Mackenzie while working at one of its firms.
He was also one of the youngest vice president for his company.
Jeff learn responsibility from a very young age and carry it through adult hood. As a teenager, he started
his own little business in his parents’ garage. When he started working on Wall Street he felt he can be
more successful on his own. Jeff quit his job after four years and started his online book store. Amazon
was named after South American river, Amazon.
Amazon has become to be a very successful company. Amazon was founded in 1994 and traded publicly
