While Sam was a guest in Hotel, a thief broke into was the room and stole his luggage, his clothes, his watch and ring while he was out of Hotel having dinner.
Hotel issues room keys, but no coded access cards, to guests. Hotel employs on-site security guards, but does not have security video cameras in the Hotel. Hotel provides a safe at the reception desk for guests who wish to store personal property.
Hotel claims no liability for any of Sam’s losses.
A. Analyze and discuss whether Sam has a valid legal claim against Hotel and will likely recover damages from Hotel for all the stolen property. Why or why not?
