Unit 6 Assignment: Leadership and You
In GM502 and GM503, you will be learning about leadership theory and best practices in your
Readings, Assignments, and Discussion topics. As adult learners and master’s-level students, it is
important to see how they will be integrated into your learning plan. The three Assignments you will
be completing throughout the GM502 and GM503 courses will help you complete this integration.
Instructions
? Using the Readings and Assignments you have completed to date:
1) Revise your definition of leadership from Unit 1. Provide your personal definition of leadership
used in Unit 1 as a base and describe what changes you are making and why. This definition is the
only information from your Unit 1 paper that can be used in this Assignment.
2) Select a different leader than the one identified in Unit 1. What observations have you noticed in
terms of concept and practice? Cite examples and any measurable results you have seen.
3) Provide at least three recommendations to this leader that would have increased his/her
effectiveness, using the information you have gained in this class. Why do you believe your
recommendations would produce or create a stronger outcome?
? Select at least two of the leadership styles from this course that you identified with the most.
Explain why these styles/approaches meant so much to you and how you will implement these
into your own leadership approach. Be specific.
? Write a 5–6 page APA compliant paper, not including cover or reference page to complete the
Assignment.
