Strategic Analysis Plan

Each student is required to assemble and submit their Strategic Analysis Plan for MBA 517. The Strategic Analysis Plan and its components should be directed towards your present company (employer); for profit organization. The other option is developing a Strategic Analysis Plan for another company that you and I have agreed upon (Approved). Begin each page with a new heading for each component of the strategic analysis plan. These sections or components must be in your plan. Each section should be at least 1 page in length in developing this quality strategic analysis plan.
1. Title page& Table of Content – Course, Name, & Company analyzed
2. Design and Chart your strategy-making, strategy-executing process – Chap. 2.
Integrate your organizational chart with your strategy-making, strategy-executing process. (You need to include each of the 5 phases and job titles responsible for each phase.
3. Written Vision Statement – Chap. 2 – Place your company’s existing vision statement & then write an improved version.
4. Written Mission Statement – Chap. 2 – The same as in item 3.
5. Complete a Risk Exposure Analysis due to pressure for growth in identifying strategic risk.
6. Balance Scorecard – Develop and assemble a Strategic Map including each of the four perspectives. The balance scorecard must also list objectives, measures, targets, and initiatives.
7. Identify strategically relevant industry features (Dominant Economic Traits) – Chap. 3 Include market size, scope of competitive rivalry, Market growth rate, Stage in life cycle, Number of companies in industry, Customers, and Degree of vertical integration. Also, diagram a Strategic Group Map Application- Chap. 3
8. The Five forces Model of Competition – Chap. 3- List all the companies in each of the five forces, rank order each force (1-5), and each company within each force. Describe which one of the five forces in the strongest in your analysis.
9. Complete a weighted competitive strength assessment. You must select at least 5 Key Success Factors
10.Describe the present Generic Strategy and if you agree with the strategy – Chap. 5. (Michael Porter research) – Best-Cost provider, overall low-Cost leadership, Focused Low-Cost, Broad Differentiation, and Focused Differentiation.
