MBA 517 Case #2
You have been assigned to lead an effort to settle a
International court case dispute between your Fortune 100 company in the U. S.
and a company in a third world country. The International Court settled in your
company’s favor however, under the rules of International Court they cannot
demand justice for your company, (research is required). The third world
government is not happy about the outcome of the case. Therefore, subsequent
contracts your company was to receive from the third world country have been
put on hold until such time as your company acknowledges some form of
wrongdoing by paying the third world country’s government a large sum of money
or providing some form of retribution.
Your company is sending you to this country to meet with
their top government officials including the third highest ranking officer in
the government. You must come up with a strategy to settle this dispute without
jeopardizing your company’s image and at the same time allow the third world
country to save face.
Things you have thought of to consider:
?Pay them the $M they demand.?Offset the money by providing
some form of technology or assets in lieu of the money.?Provide technology
training to their military academy students.?Form a relationship with the
officials and consider employing some of them within your company.
Your assignment is to create a strategy for settling this
dispute and take into consideration significantimpacts to public relations and
future contracts between this country, your company, and the U. S. government.
Write a (4) page brief on what you would do. Be sure to
research the International Court procedures and rules of engagement with
foreign officials.
