Paper “Rough Draft” is due on Day “6” of week 7. The Rough Draft must represent a completedraft in order for
feedback to be comprehensively provided for use in your Final submissions.
*Outlines will not qualify for full points in this assignment
accordingly.
The purpose
of this Paper is to provide the student learner with an opportunity to
evaluate the quality system of a selected company known for higher quality in
terms of how they developed and attained a competitive advantage in a global
marketplace.
The use of a real company will provide the
student with practical, hands-on use of daily information that can be routinely
accessed by a well-informed user through today’s technology. This approach
should foster a better understanding of concepts and approaches discussed in
the “Virtual Classroom.”
Elements of research, culture, analysis, interpretation, risk assessment and
evaluation are all critical to the development of a thoughtful project
conclusion and recommendations.
Instructions follow:
I.
Paper Assignment: Please select a company with the following criteria:
[1] Publicly traded
[2] Large
[3] International
[4] Known for
quality products- like GE, Allied Signal, Sony, Disney World, etc that operates
in the United States and has foreign locations in which it does
business.
II.
Composition Requirements:
Compile background
information on the selected company from a variety of resources available such
as company web site, Annual and SEC Reports and news articles (all information
must be publicly available information that was legally obtained).
III.
Elements include the following:
[1] Company’s
official name and Primary Business.
[2]
Company Mission Statement and Vision Statement.
[3] Provide a
brief background of the company.
[4] Discuss the Company
goals and objectives
[5] What is the
organization’s corporate culture and how does this relate/support a quality
culture.
[6] Provide a
Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT) analysis
[7] Provide a
Political, Economic, Social, and Technological (PEST) analysis
[8] Provide
conclusions/recommendations as to whether the company should ‘stay on course’
or implement changes for continuous improvement.
