Assignment: – Iraq strategy in invading Iran, 1980
Students will evaluate a specific strategy (from a choice of specific strategies). The students will identify exactly what the actual strategy is, whether it is successful or not, and analyze how it evolved/adapted in response to the environment (including political, military, economic, and information actions taken by adversaries, competitors, and allies). The abilities demonstrated by the evaluation of a historical strategy are a building block for the Ascher-Overholt strategic analysis and creation of a portfolio of strategies. Individual paper, 5-7 pages in length.
