Research best practices for establishing and managing a Board of Directors. Develop a 2 to 3 page paper on what you consider best practices. Include your insights on the following:
- Describe the role of a Board of Directors.
- Who should be chosen to site on a Board of Directors?
- How would you determine the optimal number of directors on a board?
- How long should each member serve on the board?
- Should directors be compensated? If so how much and how often. If not, why not?
- Should directors have some financial stake in the organization?
- Should the Board be held accountable for CEO behavior and decisions? Of so, to what degree? If not, explain why.
- What is the protocol for firing an individual member and an entire board? What does your research show?
