Module 4 Discussion Question 1

clear which comments are intended for each part of the discussion.

I will post several follow up questions during the week as
the discussion unfolds. Please choose one (or more) of the follow up questions
to respond to.

Research the World Bank at www.worldbank.org Copy and paste
the link into a new browser window as you will need to retrieve an URL later.

Click on the “About” hyperlink box on the left
menu. Read the page and then

Click on the “Who We Are” hyperlink box. Read
about the five agencies and then

Click on the “What We Do” hyperlink box. Read the
page and then

Click on the “Results” hyperlink box.

Click on the “View Latest Results” hyperlink.

Near the bottom of the page, on the left side, click on
“+See more” under “Countries.” Choose a country and then choose a story on the World Bank website
that is of interest to you. Respond to the following:

1. Identify one of the issues or programs that the World
Bank is involved in that is of interest to you. How has the World Bank made a
difference in a developing country or countries with regards to this issue?
(The response to these 2 questions combined is to be a minimum of 2 paragraphs
long with 3-6 sentences per paragraph in length.) Do not simply copy and paste
material from this website; describe the program in your own words. If you
borrow any text verbatim, use quotation marks.

2. Provide the citation for the page you are

will likely be found at the bottom of webpage(s) being cited. In this case, the
author can be identified as The World Bank Group.
