Did you know that nearly 96 percent of consumers live
outside the U.S. and two-thirds of the world’s purchasing power is in foreign
countries? Go where the customers are! There is significant opportunity for
small businesses to profit through exporting.(U.S. Government)
The U.S. government provides a plethora of resources and
assistance for U.S. companies that want to begin exporting or expand exports.
They have an new website which can be accessed at https://new.export.gov
• Check out the Export.gov website at https://new.export.gov
• Copy and paste the link into a new browser window as you
will need to retrieve an URL later.
• Click on the “The Export Process” button to
reveal a drop down menu; select “Export Basics”
• Skim through the page, and then…
• Find a topic on the page that is of interest to you.
Respond to the following:
1. Discuss two ways the Export.gov website assists
businesses with exporting. (Response to #1 is to be a minimum of 2 paragraphs
long with 3-6 sentences per paragraph in length.)
2. Identify the complete URL for information referenced from
the Export.gov website.
