Instructions
In this course, each module will have two discussion
questions from which to choose. You will post a response to one of the
discussion questions and reply to two of your peers’ responses in either
thread. You are encouraged to read the discussions for both questions. All of
your postings and replies should express relevance, scholarship, and clear
communication of your meaning. They will be graded based on the Discussion
Rubric.
Post your responses to the FDQ of your choice by about
midweek and reply to your peers’ postings by the end of the week.
FDQ 1a: Organizational Behavior:
Define organizational behavior and discuss the impact the
Hawthorne Studies had on the study of organizational behavior. Which one of the
five methods of research was the Hawthorne Study? Which method would you use to
study organizational behavior? Why?

or one in each, it does not matter.
FDQ 1b: Theoretical
Frameworks:
Thomson (2008) discusses 14 management theories or models
that incorporate theoretical frameworks. In applying these models or theories,
the leader/manager must understand employee attitudes to evaluate whether a
specific model would be effective in the organization. The textbook discusses
the three components of attitudes, specifically: affective, cognitive and
behavioral. Review the Thomson article (link below) and your textbook to
enhance and extend your learning of the module content and prepare for the
discussion part of the activity. Also, you may find Thomson’s article helpful
when you develop an outline for your research paper.

After reviewing the text and reading Ms. Thomson’s article,
select and compare two theories or models in a few paragraphs. Which of these
frameworks or combination of these frameworks do you feel provides the best
model to study human behavior in organizations?
