We all know that somethings just “go together” well – like chips and dips and soda (OK, a beer!) and pretzels. So, if these products “go together” so well, why don’t more companies “Co-Market”, meaning that they market their products together, and share the expenses and the sales!?

Why don’t we see more shared marketing with ads for two products from possibly two different companies that have joined forces to sell, sell, sell because of this pre-existing relationship between their products?

Well, don’t just sit there…get started NOW on your own “Co-Marketing” ideas!

“Co-Marketing” – the next BEST idea in sport!

Today, we are seeing some enormous changes in terms of how companies market to their customers. “Co-Marketing” can be an excellent tool for creating win-win relationships in the increasingly complex sport industry.

“Co-Marketing” can be defined many different ways and some researchers believe that “Co-Marketing” has been around since the early 1900s in various formats. Recently there has been more of a demand for this different type of marketing in sport management. The creation and establishment of partnerships between companies can advance the branding message of both parties!

Now it is your job to come up with and develop the next BEST “Co-Marketing” plan for the sport industry! Be creative – consider well-known product relationships, but you are encouraged design new relationships and challenge others.

No, no, no…you are not allowed to utilize the most common relationships in existence…that would be boring, wouldn’t it!? Stay away from chips and dips, soda/beer and pretzels/peanuts, and cigarettes and alcohol all together. Think unique! Think smart! Think sales!

For the assignment, create a “Co-Marketing” idea with two products and include the following:
* Specify the names of and give descriptions for both products
* Why they “go together” so well or SHOULD?
* Where/how you would suggest “Co-Marketing” these products? Whythese? (Include three options and explain them in detail – here is where the BIG points are earned!)

* Include your references…give credit where credit is due!
