(a). Mr K owns a block
of land adjoining the high tide mark at Maui Bay in the Nadroga Rural town planning area. K purchased
this land after a large block of
beach frontage land was subdivided in 2009 for residential uses. K wants to construct a tourism
villa development with 6 room tourism accommodation.
Please
advise K on his planning and environmental law obligations.

(b). Mr X owns a tourism development on a
beach at Nananui-Ra. Mr X wants to expand
his business by running dive tours to the reef. The beach does not have sheltered anchorage for
his dive boat, so he has decided to dig a channel and a marina. This work was done without planning
permission or an EIA. Mr Y has complained
to the local authority and the Minster of Environment but nothing has been done. Please advise Mr Y.
