The various dimensions of sustainability include global environmental issues, social responsibility, and environmental legislation which exists to help ensure sustainable business behavior. The purpose of this assignment is to evaluate a corporate approach to sustainability and answer related questions.
Respond to the following and support your response.
- Visit the Sustainability section of your Capstone company. This information may also be included in their Social Responsibility section. Select two global environmental issues identified as being initiatives at the company, provide a brief explanation of the issue, and indicate why you think management chose to become involved in these areas.
- Identify the environmental legislation which regulates each issue and describe the type of penalties the company could face for not complying with the applicable law.
- Discuss the company’s relationship between corporate sustainability and social responsibility as it relates to both issues. Do you believe that your Capstone company has taken all of the necessary steps to address each issue that you identified? Give one suggestion as to how the company can improve its current approach for each issue.
