TERM PROJECT

CONTEXT

Management Information Systems is a field characterized by extremely rapid change. It now touches
every aspect of the economy, governance, education and other fields in modern
societies; it is an integral part of our work and of our social and private
lives. New technologies bring change to the people and to the organization
dimensions of MIS. Automation and training improve efficiencies while creating
a need for better systems and more innovations.

Innovation
in IS has created new concepts with these two being very prevalent in 2016, some
of which intersect to some degree:

PROJECT REQUIREMENTS

1.Select one of the above 2 concepts ?

2.Conduct research using scientific publications to demonstrate
knowledge of the following:

a. INTRODUCTION: Concept name. What is the definition of this concept?

b. HISTORICAL REFERENCE: When and by whom (paper author, company, event, ?etc.) was the
concept initially used? Is the concept today used in the same way as it ?was
initially coined? ?15 points

c. RELATED TECHNOLOGIES: List and describe at least 4 (four) of the most ?popular Information
Technology products, related to the concept. You should include a table with,
at the minimum, each product’s name, the name of the vendor or group
responsible, date and version number for the product’s initial release, current
stable release and its market share. ?

d.
ETHICAL IMPACT: Write your analysis on the
Ethical impact of this concept, using publications as the basis of your thought
process. ?25 points

e. ORGANIZATION AND PEOPLE
IMPACT:
Write your analysis on the Organization and
People impact of this concept, in a way that it shows critical thinking. ?10 points

f. CONCLUSION: Provide your conclusion on Careers impact of the concept using
online articles to support your perspective.

the 5-8 page paper resulting from your research and analysis (bibliography,
potential diagrams and embedded images are in addition to this page count).

STRUCTURE
and GUIDELINES

You must
observe these guidelines:

1.The paper must not exceed 2400 words (excluding bibliography). Once
2400 words have been exceeded, marking will stop. The minimum limit is 1400
words. ?

2.A minimum of six references should be cited in your paper. A minimum
of two articles from peer-reviewed journals are required to be referenced. ?

3.Cite references to support your arguments and indicate information
sources. In-text citations are required. The citation reference at the end of
your paper (bibliography) must include links to the referenced publication.
Failure to cite information sources that you use may classify as plagiarism. You
may use MLA citation.

4.You can use any recognized referencing style you want, as long as you
are consistent. The key being that there has to be in-text citations of the
reference and a bibliography. Check a scientific journal to see how it is done
or consult library guidelines. ?

5.Include title and use headings to organize the assignment. ?

6.Use correct grammar, spelling, sentence structure and paragraph
construction. Please ?number pages. ?

7.It should be double spaced in Times New Roman, font size 12. ?

The
required structure must follow the order shown in project requirements starting
with 2a through 2f (above).

Use the
section name only (in CAPs above) for each heading of the 2a-2f sections of
your paper. Do not include the above details of what is being asked for that
section.

The
bibliography (not included in the word count) with detailed references and
links to citations used must be included at the end of your paper.
