Signature Assignment: Monitor Performance of the Project Baseline Plan
The discussion and insights paper will be an opportunity for you to review the knowledge and understanding of an important facet of project planning during execution. It is important to be able to summarize how knowledge gained has changed and expanded your thinking in a professional and academic sense. You will dialogue with your course instructor and possibly other students on what knowledge you have acquired and how you are planning to apply this knowledge in future courses as well as out in the field.

Using the re-carpeting project as your model, compare and contrast the effect of monitoring performance against the earned value baseline. You will have to analyze your project data to build the monitoring performance and earned value baseline data required to complete this assignment. To begin your paper, provide a summary of the project. Include the following in the final report:
Be succinct in your explanation and provide a recommendation of which approach, performance monitoring or earned value, will be more effective. A diagram should be inserted to provide a model of the monitoring to be implemented. Support your paper with a minimum of five (5) scholarly resources. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included. Length: 10-12 pages not including title and reference pages Your paper should demonstrate thoughtful consideration of the ideas and concepts that are presented in the course and provide new thoughts and insights relating directly to this topic.
