According to Osland, Kolb, Rubin and Turner (2007) people have their
own theory about management although it may not be backed by a valid
theory., This is what drives managers to operate organizations the way
they do. While managers may have their own preconceived notion about
management theories there are valid research modalities to assist
managers with management styles that will fit their particular
organization.

Scientific Management is described as making sure work is equally
distributed among those that have the ability and training to do the
job while providing monetary incentives and rewards. Administrative
Theory is geared towards solutions to organizational issues. This
theory stresses the need to have the organization structured in such a
way that it is manageable where everyone can be properly supervised
following valid management principals.

Human Relations School theory states that employee’s perceptions and
feelings should be taken into consideration. When workers feel as
though they are cared about, they will perform better which will
ultimately increase productivity. Effective management is being aware
of employee’s needs and ensuring they are met.
