Discussion 1 – Week 5 Diversity and Inclusion

Consider the following questions as you formulate your response to the Discussion questions. These
questions serve to provide a framework for you to begin your thinking process (do not answer them
individually); you must explain your reasoning as you formulate your formal response. How has civil rights legislation protected some groups (protected classes) and infringed upon or
not protected others? Which civil rights legislation do you feel is most important and why? How do bona fide occupational qualifications protect the rights of employers? How has the civil rights legislation benefitted or harmed the workplace climate, group dynamics,
and the prospects for being profitable? Do you think that civil rights legislation should be abolished? Why or why not?
