BUS 635 Business Portfolio Assignment

For this 5-8-page paper, in APA format, citing all references, Conduct an analysis of the leadership of an organization. The company to analyze will be one that is used by the Baldrige organization as training for those companies that are entering the Baldrige competition.

This paper should be appropriate for presentation to a CEO. CEO’s expect professionalism and thorough explanation, but are not impressed by – and do not have time for – excessive wordiness or flowery prose.

All of the information needed on the Baldridge Organization can be found here:

https://www.nist.gov/baldrige/publications/baldrige-case-study.

The book used throughout the course is

Laszlo & Zhexembayeva. (2011). Embedded Sustainability: The Next Big Competitive Advantage. Stanford, CA: Stanford University Press. (ISBN-13: 978-1-906-093-587)

The following is a general description of the intended flow of the document that will contribute to the headings/outline created. Students will: · present a basic overview describing the Baldrige case study organization, along with an overview of its Baldrige aspirations. (Note that APA format does not use the heading “Introduction” following the inside title, as it is assumed that all documents begin with an introduction – making that heading unnecessary.) · detail the specifics of the company’s leadership. This discussion should include the student’s version of the company org chart documenting the leadership as discussed. This figure will likely be large enough to appear in a Figures section after the References section (one figure per page) and will be referenced by figure number and page number in the body discussion. (See APA resources such as OWL for proper location and captioning format information.) · describe your assessment of the leadership and its stance regarding sustainability. · provide an overall evaluation of leadership effectiveness at both running the organization in a sustainable manner and the potential influence this may have stakeholders’ sustainability activities. Students’ justification of their assessments must be backed up by course concepts and/or information from other credible, academically rigorous sources on the subject matter. · conclude with a brief summary of the entire paper and review of whether this process yielded valuable results that provide insight for company stakeholders. The conclusion should also include a recommendation for possible further research – perhaps a comparison to a different organization could be helpful.
