Discussion 1
My plan is to add a chiropractor onto the staff in a hospital. The chiropractor will offer services to in
patients, outpatients, ER patients, and even surgical patients. I haven’t yet put together my whole plan, so
I’ve attached my milestones, if you’d like to look it over. My biggest strength, I think, is that I’ve worked in
hospitals for 10 years now, and understand a lot of how they are run from the business side, as well as
the patient care side. However, when it comes to my paper, my biggest weaknesses are the financial side
of the business, before and after adding a chiropractor, as well as the regulations that would go along with
adding a chiropractor. Finding actual profits of a hospital has proven difficult to me, and trying to figure out
how much a difference a chiropractor would actually make (financially) has been even more difficult. I’m
sure for the sake of the assignment I could make my best guess, but I don’t want to do that. Any
suggestions? When it comes to regulations surrounding a chiropractor working within hospital walls, there
just isn’t very much information out there because it is so rare. The information I have found is very vague
and just says stuff along the lines of “if a chiropractor wants to have rights to see patients they must follow
the policies/regulations”. If any of you have suggestions to this as well, I’m all ears. The audience may
challenge this whole idea, stating it’s not possible, or not logical. The common conception is that
chiropractors aren’t real doctors and don’t really help people. With that notion, it would seem crazy to let a
chiropractor work in a hospital with medical doctors. I’m open to any suggestions and/or constructive
criticisms. Discussion 2
My business presentation centers on the implementation of a financial
budgeting application. Introduced by Bank of America, this application, tentatively
called Red Alert, would be an extension of the Bank of America’s existing mobile
application. Ultimately, Red Alert will access consumer’s financial activity and provide
personalized, real-time financial advice.
One of the strengths of my project has been an ability to align Bank of
America’s mission with the implementation of Red Alert. Dedicated to improving the
financial lives of its consumers, Red Alert capitalizes on new technical innovation and
new consumer trends. As the first financial institution to implement this idea, Bank of
America’s implementation of Red Alert will portray the corporation’s responsibility
and dedication to its consumers. Existing competitors are void of the ability to
transfer funds providing Bank of America with a competitive advantage. As an
extension of an existing system, defining physical and technological resources were
adequately address as well as an implementation schedule and project review
process.
One weakness, however, was submitting a financial analysis and a funding
plan. Offered for a monthly service fee of $4.99, Bank of America’s projected revenue
stream includes an estimated 20% of Bank of America’s current mobile banking users.
Expenses can be expected to amount to approximately $500,000 for the initial year and approximately $250,000 for the following years. However, I have struggled to
develop an appropriate cash flow statement. Additionally, I have faced challenges
developing an appropriate budget.
