Donabedian’s framework for measuring healthcare quality is comprised of four domains: access, technical performance, interpersonal performance, and continuity. (Please see Chapter 5 of your textbook for further information.)
Table 5-1 on pages 95-96 gives examples of how a consumer would measure healthcare quality on these five domains. Think about a recent health encounter you have had with a healthcare provider. Using the framework and Table 5-1, discuss how the visit’s quality was on each domain.
What is your overall assessment of the provider’s quality? What recommendations would you make to improve quality?
