An effective leader can positively influence those around them, thus improving performance. In a maintenance environment this is especially important because poor performance can result in risks to human safety or equipment. An increase in risks can hinder organizational output and cause negative impacts on the financial aspects of performance and production. Address the following below:

  • Compare and contrast two maintenance leadership philosophies and choose one philosophy to defend that is appropriate for any department in a global maintenance organization. In your defense, illustrate how the philosophy allows you as a leader to enhance situational awareness and promote a safety culture that reduces risks to employees, customers, and assets.
  • As the leader of a maintenance environment discuss the training methods/requirements necessary to enhance leadership effectiveness and situational awareness and the route you would take to communicate such to your team. Keep in mind that your goal is to promote a safety culture that reduces risks for all. Support your methods with the chosen maintenance leadership philosophy from the previous bullet.
  • Compile your response into a three paragraph discussion and include a minimum of two apa style references. Document your references at the bottom your response.
