The four factor structure is as follows: (1) diffusion, which represents feelings of confusion and the need for additional experience or information about making a career decision; (2) support, which indicates uncertainty about making a decision and the need for additional support; (3) approach-approach, which indicates that the problem lies in a conflict where a number of career choices appear attractive; (4) external barriers, represents both external barriers to making a career choice and a lack of interest in making a decision.
